Introduction

The Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Anfängerleitfaden hub collects every Leitfaden you need to make the jump from controller-in-hand to online ranked competitive play. Tōkon is ARC SYSTEM WORKS' first Marvel collaboration and it ships with a 4v4 tag-Team system, twenty launch charaktere, six Arenen and a dedicated Startup Battle tutorial that walks new players through the Light, Medium and Heavy chain inputs. Our Anfängerleitfadens cover the Startup Battle step by step, the five EASE OF USE Easy charaktere every newcomer should learn first, the × Assist and L2 Switch mechanics, the Skill Gauge management loop and the Online Lobby ranked flow. We also walk you through your first Versus Team build, the Episodenmodus prologue and the pre-order Bonus redemption path. Each Leitfaden below assumes zero prior fighting game knowledge and is structured so you can read it in any order — start with the Startup Battle walkthrough if you have never played an ARC SYSTEM WORKS title before, or skip ahead to the Team builder if you have Marvel vs. Capcom or Dragon Ball FighterZ experience. By the end of this hub you will know how every system ticks, which charaktere to pick first, and how to climb the online ladder during the Offene Beta window from 2026-07-24 to 2026-07-26 and beyond.

Core Mechanics

The core mechanics every Anfänger must internalize are the Light, Medium and Heavy attack chains (L → L → L, M → M → M, H → H → H), the × Assist and L2 Switch system for swapping Teammates, the Skill Gauge resource that gates Skill / Super Skill / Ultimate Skill usage, and the Crossover Counter defensive option. Startup Battle drills the L/M/H chain inputs, the × button's dual function as Assist and Switch (decided by the directional input: → or neutral = second Teammate, ↓ = third Teammate, ← = fourth Teammate), and the Skill Gauge breakpoints. Online you need to master the 64-Player Online Lobby flow, the cross-play toggles between PS5 and PC, and the rank reset between Offene Beta and launch on August 6, 2026. Episodenmodus introduces the Assemble mechanic where every Teammate contributes to a shared Skill Gauge pool and Follow-up Attacks that extend Kombos after the point Charakter uses their Skill. Finally, Training Mode is the right place to practice Blockstrings, Crossover Counters and the Crossover Counter into Assemble Rush confirm — these are the three skills that separate a Anfänger from an intermediate player in ranked matchmaking.

Advantages

The Marvel Tōkon Anfängerleitfaden hub benefits newcomers with Quick Skill accessibility, the official Startup Battle tutorial, the EASE OF USE Easy Liste and the curated first-three-online-matches progression path. Quick Skill lets you execute special moves with a single button press instead of learning quarter-circle and dragon-punch motions, so Anfängers can focus on Team Rotation, neutral game and Skill Gauge management before drilling execution. Startup Battle teaches the L/M/H chain inputs, the × Assist / Switch system, the Skill Gauge loop and the Crossover Counter defensive option in a structured eight-to-twelve minute interactive tutorial. The five EASE OF USE Easy charaktere (Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, Iron Man, Spider-Man) cover the major archetypes (All-rounder, Mid-range, Brawler, Hybrid, Rushdown) so newcomers can pick their playstyle without grinding difficult charaktere. Online matchmaking is skill-based at launch with optional input filters, so new players queue against other Anfängers rather than veterans. Cross-play between PS5 and PC with optional input matchmaking means longer queue times are rare.

Challenges

Anfänger challenges in Tōkon include the breadth of the 4v4 system — newcomers must learn not just one Charakter but four charaktere' moves, synergies and optimal switch points. Skill Gauge management is a steep learning curve for players coming from 1v1 fighters where resource management is simpler (round win / round loss). Online ranked matchmaking uses skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) at launch, which can feel punishing for new players climbing the ladder. Arena hazards on Asgard and Knowhere can interrupt long Kombos, punishing players who don't pay attention to positioning — this is healthier competitive design but adds a learning curve. Cross-play input mismatch can feel unfair when controller players face keyboard-and-mouse players; the optional input filter helps but extends queue times. Episodenmodus is roughly eight to twelve hours, which is shorter than the typical single-player campaign in story-driven action games — players who buy the game for single-player content may feel shortchanged.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sollte ich den Startup-Kampf spielen, bevor ich in den Versus-Modus springe?+
Yes. The Startup Battle teaches the Light, Medium and Heavy chain inputs, the × Assist system, the Skill Gauge management loop, and the Switch tag mechanic. ARC SYSTEM WORKS has tuned the difficulty so a complete Anfänger can clear it on the default settings. Skipping it and going straight to Versus leaves you guessing about core terminology like Break, Assemble Rush and Follow-up Attack, which the wiki and the in-game move Liste both reference. Treat Startup Battle as a free Leitfadend tour of your toolkit.
What is the easiest Team for a brand new player to learn?+
The Kämpfende Avengers Vorlage Team (Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Panther) is the easiest. Captain America is the official tutorial Charakter and fills the Skill Gauge faster than anyone else on the Kader. Iron Man brings ranged zoning for players who like to keep distance. Hulk and Black Panther round out the Kader with simple Heavy chains that punish mistakes at mid range. Web-Krieger (Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Peni Parker, Star-Lord) is a strong runner-up thanks to easy aerial confirms.
Wie hindere ich Gegner daran, mich zu überrennen?+
Three defensive tools cover most situations in Marvel Tōkon. Standing Guard (hold ←) blocks overheads and mid attacks. Crouching Guard (hold ↙) blocks low attacks including the tip of many Heavy chains. The Assemble Counter (□ + ×) and Crossover Counter trigger on block or hit and let a tag partner punish the opponent who just committed. The recommended defensive habit for Anfängers is to hold ← by default and watch the opponent's Heavy Chain starter, then react with the appropriate counter.

Quick Tips

💡

Start with Captain America or Ms. Marvel as your Point Charakter — both are EASE OF USE Easy, cover the All-rounder and Mid-range archetypes, and teach the L/M/H chain inputs cleanly.

💡

Halte die Skill-Leiste immer auf 100 %, bevor du einen Ultimate-Skill in Ranglistenspielen einsetzt – ein Fehlschlag eines Ultimates kostet dich das Momentum der Runde und 100 % deiner Leiste.

💡

Practice the universal Advanced Kombo (L → M → H → Skill → Assemble Rush → Follow-up Attack) in Training Mode until you can land it consistently under pressure before trying Charakter-specific routes.
